Next Premier League Manager to be Sacked Odds: Latest Betting for the 2023/24 Season

next manager sacked odds

Patience in sticking with a manager appears to be at an all-time low. There were 14 bosses sacked during the last Premier League campaign, while a further two have departed since the end of the season. Ruben Selles was shown the door at Southampton, before south-coast neighbours Bournemouth also opted to act.

The previous record number of managers sacked in one Premier League season was ten, so club chiefs are getting quick to pull the trigger.

Rob Edwards10/1
Roy Hodgson12/1

Here are four managers we think have the best chances of winning the sack race as we head into the 2023/24 campaing.

Julen Lopetegui @ 4/1

Julen Lopetegui’s stay at Molineux could prove short-lived amid rumblings of discontent with Wolves’ financial situation.

The Spaniard took charge only last November, steering Wolves away from the relegation zone and to a comfortable mid-table finish. However, he spoke at the end of the season at his surprise to learn of the lack of funds he would have to spend on improving the squad this summer.

The former Sevilla boss has since seen Ruben Neves and Nathan Collins leave in big-money transfers and while he has received assurances he will have some money to spend in the market, the relationship between all parties appears on shaky ground.

Roy Hodgson @ 12/1

Nowhere has the merry-go-round nature of the managerial game been felt more than at Crystal Palace.

There was a mixed reaction from Eagles fans when Roy Hodgson was brought back to the club to replace his successor Patrick Vieira, but the veteran gaffer kept the team up.

Hodgson, who turns 76 in August, was never a long-term plan for the Palace chiefs, so they could be quick to act if a classy young manager becomes available.

Marco Silva @ 10/1

Marco Silva has one year left to run on his current contract at Fulham with the Cottagers desperate to tie him down to an extension.

But, persuading him to stay is proving tricky with the Portuguese understood to have had his head turned by the riches on offer in Saudi Arabia, a prospect which has also grabbed the attention of Silva’s star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Should the Serb leave, that could harm Fulham’s chances of extending the stay of Silva, who has a history of walking out on clubs.

Steve Cooper @ 9/1

Keeping Nottingham Forest in the Premier League was a hugely impressive managerial feat for Steve Cooper - and the 43-year-old Welshman has become in demand as a result. The former Swansea chief could become a target for a bigger club.

A 1-0 home victory over Arsenal in May was a glorious way for Cooper's Forest to retain their Premier League status.

Cooper's flexibility in formation selection means he could easily adapt to a role on the continent, while Forest’s trigger-happy owner Evangelos Marinakis could easily push Cooper out the door if the Tricky Trees fail to start next season well.

How does Next Manager Betting Work:

Sky Bet have offered odds on the next manager to be sacked, or to leave their club.

This only applies to managers who will have left their current position at a club before kick off on the final day of the league, 28th of May 2023.

If a manager leaves his club before 15:00 on the final day of the season this is all that will matter.

If no manager has been sacked then the ‘No Manager to Leave’ selection will have won.

If the manager you have bet on has left his post before 28/05/23 then this will count as a win.

If a manager has been placed on ‘Gardening Leave’ however this will not count.
